Steam Islands Galactic Cluster

The SIGC is the name for the Sci-Fi Region Steam Islands on NationStates. The Cluster features one Galaxy per Nation and some are shared by multiple Nations. As of Sunday, 2018, August 8^TH, there are thirty (30) Nations and forty-one (41) Galaxies. There is a thirty-first nation known as The Grand Fleet of Stjernekatt, but they do not have their own galaxy as their home was destroyed long ago as detailed in their article.

Among the lists, the tables have COLOR written in the first box. This is because 1] the map used to be political colors only, and as such that's what each nation was, and 2] for future reference to be used whenever.

In Character

The Steam Islands Galactic Cluster consists of two Major Galaxies, Steam Islands Galaxy and Kal'Kiara Galaxy. Each consists of its own Micro Cluster. The Steam Islands Micro Cluster has been observed and scientifically proven to be slightly dustier than the Kal'Kiara Micro Cluster, leading to it having more vibrant colors from dust than the other. The Kal'Kiara Micro Cluster, on the other hand, has brighter dwarf galaxies, owing to the constant star formation of brighter and larger stars that seems to be constant amongst all its dwarfs. Shared between the two Micro Clusters is the Stellar Islands Formations, which seem to orbit both major galaxies and occasionally switch which one it orbits.

The Map is a top-down view of all Galaxies in the Cluster, each galaxy being represented by the approximate colors of it's stars, gas, and dust within.

OOC INFORMATION

The Map was required to be made a link because apparently, while they allow a file size of 10 MB, the actual image may not have more than a collective 12 Million Pixels. Because of this, I am unable to upload it in such a way that makes a thumbnail without making the file so small that it deletes the important galaxies. For all I know, some may have been erased and I didn't notice. We shall see.

How to get on the Map

In order to get on the map, you must submit your application either via Telegram on NationStates to The United Socialist States of Vodkaslavia if you have a valid Nation and/or via comment on EpicToaster1's profile if you have a valid Wikia Article.

Requirements

Please be aware! There are exceptions, you don't need to meet all of these at the time of the application. The more, the better, but not all must be there.

1. Must have either been on the Region for One (1) Week on NationStates and/or have a mostly complete Overview on Wikia.
2. The Nation in Question must have an actual Flag. The Flag cannot be a picture of a person, place, or otherwise non-Flag-like Content.
3. Be active on either the Regional Message Board [If on NationStates] and/or the Discord [Everyone Else].
4. Have valid NationTraits™.
5. Have extra pages (either as FactBooks or Wikia Pages) outlying more about your Nation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Galaxy so much smaller then {Nation}'s?

Because I said so. Size does not qualify or quantify anything. If anything, larger is worse, as it means you need to have a bigger military to guard your borders.

The real Reason for it is that when I first made Galaxies, I based it simply off what I felt was right. Initially, galaxies were made to be 1000x1000 to signify major, and smaller to signify minor. In the previous version of the Dwarf-Only Map, the largest galaxy was 2000x2000, and all dwarfs were changed to be between 1000x1000 and 300x300. With this most recent update (V1.14), we have scrapped that system. We now officially have two major galaxies, the Steam Islands Galaxy and the Kal'Kiara Galaxy. They will be the only two major ones, so no I will not give a major one to you.

How long between Updates for the Maps?

However long I need. No official timeline. Probably if its a minor update, expect them whenever. If it's a major update, I'll try to get to it as soon as I can, so expect those to be within the week / two weeks I'm alerted I need to do it or I decide I need to do it.

I would like to add an NPC Nation! How do I do it?

What you had to do for the PC one you added. Just alert me it's an NPC.

I would like to expand, how do I do that?

If I like you enough, I'll be willing to give your galaxy dwarf satellites of its own. It won't be much, but it will be a small boost. If you want a whole 'nother large dwarf, then you'll have to do it through a cannon roleplay. Sorry, but if you don't do it that way, one galaxy per person.

Am I allowed to choose the exact look of what my Galaxy should look like?

If you can be detailed enough, yes. Pictures also work (some of the time). But if you give me a classification, and then expect it look one way and I make it another, do not get mad. If you do not tell me how you want it to look exactly, I will make it in my own way. Most (not all, but most) barred spirals have two arms. So, if you don't tell me otherwise, I'm giving it two arms. Irregulars will take on odd shapes, some possibly still containing spiral arms, others just being blobs. So if I am not told specifically, I'll go with what's closest to the classification number and what I feel like doing.

I would like a Dwarf Galaxy orbiting my Dwarf Galaxy. Can I please?

Yes. "Extra" Dwarf Galaxies will be no bigger than 100x100 Pixels. (For the Galaxies that are 200x200, the Maximum will be 80x80 Pixels.) You may have no more than two to three (2-3) (depending on Size). These will also be of either Elliptical Classification or Irregular Classification. Spirals at this size are most likely not to exist.

What link does the Nation Name lead to?

The Hyperlink on the Nation Name leads to the Nation's Wiki Page. This goes for both PC and NPC Nations. If the name doesn't have a hyperlink, more than likely the nation has yet to exist in Wikia.
